Cookies

This website sets a small number of cookies. Every one of them is necessary for the site to work — there are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and nothing here is shared with an advertising network.

Signing in

Two cookies keep you signed in after you log in: a short-lived access token and a longer-lived refresh token. Both are httpOnly, so JavaScript on the page cannot read them. Without these you would be signed out on every page load.

Language and currency

Your language choice is part of the web address (/ar or /en). Your currency choice is remembered in your browser so prices stay in the currency you picked.

Analytics

SHT records how this website is used — pages opened, products viewed, search terms, and the steps through cart and checkout — on SHT's own servers, and links that record to your account while you are signed in. It is not done with cookies: see “What else is stored in your browser” below. No third-party analytics or advertising service runs on this website. The privacy policy describes this in full.

What else is stored in your browser

Some things are kept in your browser's own storage rather than in a cookie, which means they stay on your device and are not sent with every request. For the length of one tab: an identifier that groups your activity for the analytics above, and the campaign parameters of the link that brought you here. Both disappear when you close the tab. Until you clear them: the products in your comparison tray, your recent searches, and the delivery area you last chose. Those lists are not uploaded anywhere. What you DO is still recorded by the analytics described above — building a comparison, and running a search — so it is the list that stays on your device, not the fact that you did it. The delivery area is the exception: it is never sent to SHT at all.

Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner exists to ask permission for non-essential cookies. This site sets none, so a banner would be asking you to consent to something that is not happening. If that changes, this page changes with it.
